Food Diary - I Heart Flaming Wings

Hey Coffeeholics! Have you ever tried eating at Flaming Wings - New York Buffalo Wings? My brother and sister has been raving about Flaming Wings for some time now and so I was glad I finally had a chance to try out their popular fare.

The branch that I went to was at their Katipunan Branch in Quezon City. I'll tell you right now that its not fine dining but a very simple restaurant with a "canteen" style feel to it. But even though the ambiance wasn't that great, the enticing smells seem to beckon more and more customers! It was lunch and so the place was really full.

So here's the menu at Flaming Wings and one thing that you will definitely notice is the super affordable price! Oh diba? Compared to all the other "buffalo wings" types of restaurants, Flaming Wings is definitely a contender sa price pa lang. Rachel, my lunch buddy for that day advised me to go for the HUNGER BUSTER MEAL which was only P 130.

The Hunger Buster Meal is the best thing you can order there if your in a budget.  You will definitely get your belly full with only Php 130. For this meal, you get one really tall glass of Iced Tea or Lemonade. I chose Iced Tea. :)

You get a choice between wings or tenders and one rice. I chose the wings with the Original Signature Sauce. I'm not really into spicy food :P. Rache got the Wild Signature Sauce. With the wings, you also get a choice of your own dip. I decided to get Honey Mustard while Rache got Bleu Cheese.

I ordered some coleslaw on the side para di ma-umay!

The chicken wings weren't that big as well but for me it was ok naman. But the flavor? And the taste.. I really loved it! The Original Flaming Wings wasn't too salty or too "saucy". Some buffalo wings I've tried was slathered with lots and lots of sauce. But in Flaming Wings, it was crispy light, the skin cooked just right, and the flavor was up to the bones. In fact, I could have finished the whole batch without any dip. Ganun kalasa at kasarap! Still I tried it with the Honey Mustard dip. It wasn't that bad but when I tasted the Bleu Cheese dip.. wow.. I suddenly wished that I had chosen that! It went great with the wings and blended well with the Original flavor. So I definitely recommend the Bleu Cheese dip. Anyway, I was supposed to take an "after" shot but nahiya na ko.. kasi puro buto na lang talaga! haha!

The Verdict? I SHALL RETURN! Hehe. I definitely will come back to Flaming Wings again and try a different signature and dip. Me and Rache definitely left there with FULL and HAPPY tummies. So Coffeeholics, have you been to Flaming Wings na? What would you recommend? Or let me know when you have tried it na. :) Happy Weekend!

Hey Coffeeholics! How are you all handling the summer? Well if you have noticed, the weather this week has finally relented and its not as hot as it was last week. Yay for us! Nevertheless, Summer is indeed awesome coz its really the time for you to wear bright happy colors that just shouts summer. You know how I rarely wear colored clothing but because of the heat, I've decided to really try out different colors than black. I'm soo happy with how this look came together. Being a bit conscious of my heavy figure, I was glad that I was able to. make myself look not that fat with this color. The secret that made this look pop for me was the belt. I don't normally use belts but if I hadn't put that belt and arranged my top in this way then I'm pretty sure it would have made me looked blah and fat. Also, the animal print shoes from SM Parisian and SM Accessories helped a lot to liven up my look. I really loved this! It makes a whole lot of difference when you know that you look good coz then you feel good. That's one important factor I always try to achieve when I dress up. Anyway, I had fun in the photo shoot many thanks to my friend RACHE the fashionist architect. The yellow car in the background helped me feel like it was a vintage~ish look. Hehe. It was an awesome accessory to my photoshoot. :)

So do you have a particular outfit or article of clothing that when you wear it always make you feel a winner? Drop a comment below and let me know! Have a happy summer!

Bo's Coffee Jasmine Lychee Iced Tea - The Sweet Taste of Summer

Hey Coffeeholics and Tea Lovers! Who got this Bo's Coffee Buy one get one Jasmine Lychee in their mail? Well I did and it really perked my interest. Though I'm a very vocal coffee lover, I still do enjoy an occasional cup of tea on the side - especially milk tea, tea lattes, and iced tea. So when I saw this I thought I would give it a try. It looks cool and refreshing - perfect for this summer! And the unusual lychee twist got me curious.

Anyway so on the last day of the promo, me and my good friend the fashionst architect Rache, had a lunch date and headed over at Bo's Coffee at Katipunan Ave. We really like this branch because first of all its very near our work location! Me and Rache work in the Katipunan/Marcos Highway area so this was an ideal meeting place. Also, the Katipunan branch is one of their oldest and biggest branches as far as I know. Since it was lunch time, we only hanged out in the first floor. It was cool and cozy inside and me and Rache were happy to have snagged a good table with cozy seats.

Me and Rache go way back, we've been friends since childhood. Our parents were close friends even before we were born! We've been pretty busy lately with our personal lives so it was good to spend some time with each other and catching up with stuff and basically do what we both love to do - eat and then drink coffee or tea!

Buy one get one free for me and Rache!
So when we went inside, I immediately ordered the Jasmine Lychee Iced Tea. I think it was the smallest size. It costs around Php 115 and I was glad that I could share it with Rache. It was our first time to try out the Jasmine Lychee Iced Tea. To be honest, I was kinda apprehensive coz I'm not really a big fan of Jasmine tea. I find the floral note of the tea to be a bit too much but it was hot and I was thirsty and the drink did look enticing and I was "game" enough to try it out.

Bo's Coffee Jasmine Lychee Iced Tea
See the white roundish thing at the bottom of the drink? That's the lychee!
I'm so glad that I tried it out coz I was surprised by how light, sweet, and refreshing it was! Bo's Coffee definitely tagged this drink right. It was sweet but not overpowering. The Jasmine flavor wasn't too much but blended just right with the sweet lychee. For me it was the perfect refreshing iced tea drink to cool off the heat of the summer. As you drink the iced tea, you can see two pieces of lychee at the bottom of the drink! A drink and some fruit to eat in one cup! Yum!

So if you are looking for a refreshing drink from all this heat (its been so unbearably hot lately noh?) then why not drop by at Bo's Coffee and try out their latest summer drink - Jasmine Lychee Iced Tea. Have a cool summer!

OOTD - Flower Power Summer Coverup

Coverup - Landmark
Jeans - Landmark Bazaar
Shoes - SM Parisian

Hey Coffeeholics! Its getting super hot na diba? And because of the heat there are times when I just wanna be a bit casual and yet wear something that is not overwhelming to wear in the sweltering heat. So this is one of those days when I really wanted to wear a sleeveless blouse but was too shy to do so (sighs yes I know it shouldn't bother me to wear sleeveless tops but still.. :P ). So I grabbed this coverup I bought at Landmark a year ago. Its material is very lightweight and somewhat sheer. Its actually a beach coverup. LOL. Since it looks like I won't be able to hangout in a beach anytime soon, I thought I'd give it a try on wearing it indoors!  I liked it a lot coz its presko, di mainit, and its a coverup that I can wear in several ways. Its fun and easy to wear and I can't to put it on soon when I'm able to go swimming.

So anyway, have you guys been out swimming already? What's a good place to go swimming but near the metro? Hope you are having a great summer!

Craving for Gavino's Japanese Donuts and More

kaisensei.blogspot.com

Hello coffeeholics! Happy weekend! I'd like to greet this weekend with one of my personal cravings -- GAVINO's JAPANESE DONUTS & MORE. I had a taste of these delicious treats like a month or so ago at Il Terazo, Morato. It was an off chance impulsive buy of a friend of mine as a take out treat. We have never heard of Gavino's but since it looked yummy, we decided to try it out.

photo source - Gavino's FB Page
And I'm soooo glad we did coz the donuts were absolutely yummylicious!!! The soft chewy donut that wasn't too sweet or bland was a hit among us friends. Apparently their donuts are called pon de ring -- which are small chewy soft balls connected to each other other.

kaisensei.blogspot.com
The box of Gavino's donuts that we bought for take out!
I love the idea coz it's easier for sharing coz if you just wanna taste a "bite", you just "tear" out a "ball" and pop it in your mouth. And have I mentioned how wonderfully chewy and yummy it is? We picked out various flavors but I guess the winner for me was the Green Tea flavored donut. I thought it would taste weird but after eating it -- I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Which is surprising coz I'm not really a big fan of Green Tea flavored stuff. But the vanilla + Green Tea spread tasted divine. I also liked their old-fashioned donut (crullers) and we tried out the red velvet pistachio one and yep that's a winner as well!

And the best part is that it is very affordable compared to its other competitors. The regular pon de ring is 29 pesos per piece while the premium is 39 php.  Affordable diba? But its cheaper if you buy it per half dozen or per dozen.

Anyway, I haven't dropped by any Gavino's coz we moved to Pasig and there aren't any branches nearby. The only branches that they have are in
1) Il Terazo, Tomas Morato, Quezon City
2) Unit 5, Greenhills Town Center, 2 Granada Street, Quezon City
3) 808 Banawe Ave., N. S. Amoranto-Laloma, Quezon City
4) JUST OPENED - Robinsons Place, Manila.

So I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit. Maybe I will also try out their coffee or milk tea!
So coffeeholics, if you have dropped by Gavino's already, don't forget to recommend me what to get next. Happy payday weekend everyone!
Mwah mwah,
